Welcome to Walkways

Whether cycling, hiking, or engaging in more conventional modes of travel, Walkways' mission is to turn your vacation into a journey rather than a trip.  Let us tailor design your adventure to meet your interests, needs and budget. From the alleys ofthe Old city of Jerusalem to the back roads ofBulgaria and beyond, Walkways will take you there

Why Cycling?

We believe that traveling by bike is the best way to go. Beyond the personal challenge and the environmental benefits, cycling allows you to move at the right speed--your own speed. While still covering ground, and getting from one point to the other, cycling allows you to meet the local people, stop at any village, and become part of the scenery, rather than seeing it pass by you outside the window of your vehicle.

Client Reviews
Chaim Rockman was fabulous:  a serious, knowledgeable biker who was carefully balanced between adventure riding and bike touring,
flexibility and itinerary coverage...  He took us to
places we probably never would have gone...

Deborah J Johnson, Providence RI

It was lots of fun biking with Chaim from Walkways – but keep in mind – he’s a diehard biker and won’t let you slack off too much. Destinations loom large.   But if you need a break, speak up and you will find a caring human being. You will feel safe, but also adventurous, and you will probably also have a biking milestone.

"Amir Rockman is not only a knowledgeable guide. He shares his enthusiasm, his knowledge and his friendship generously. Adventure travel with Amir, is to experience the world in the company of a skilled friend."
Rabbi Bob Levy, Ann Arbor, MI, USA.
For an Israel adventure like no other I highly recommend the services of the Rockman family (Chaim, Eva. and Amir Rockman). Every year I visit Israel and every year since 2000 I have toured with Chaim. Mostly we tour on mountain bikes. No way could I do on my own what he and I do together. Whatever I can dream up Chaim can deliver. We have cycled along the Jordan River, Judean Hills, Negev Desert, Golan Heights, Galilee, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Jerusalem (to name just a few). Chaim is an excellent traveling partner and guide.

Our university twice has had the pleasure of using Chaim Rockman as a guide. Chaim was a pleasure to work with—friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, flexible, and told some great stories about matters relevant to our trip. I would recommend Chaim without hesitation.

As a well travelled person i can say that Chaim Rockman is simply the best tour guide I have met in my lifetime. The time with Chaim flies in a flurry of fascination and information. The views and the company were captivating.
Chaim's service is fit for kings, queens, Ambassadors, business delegates and also folk like me.

As a Cycling reporter I have visited Israel several times and had the pleasure to see the Negev desert, Ramon Crater and the Galilee, and had a wonderful experience every time.

Our congregation has traveled several times with Chaim through Israel. Chaim is a breed apart among Israeli guides. Not only is his knowledgeable about every aspect of Israel, he is very much the embodiment of the Israeli spirit.
